Without hope we can feel discouraged, dejected, and desperate. Lack of hope can cause us and our loved ones to be anxious, mentally pained, and miserable. In a world where climate change threatens the very existence of many societies, wars are on the increase, austerity is on the rise even in middle-income countries, hope seems in small supply.
